CHANGING THE TIME ON THE V-STATION FINGERSCAN READER OR MTX SWIPE CARD READER
(Lauranka COMMS)
Using Lauranka COMMS Communications Software, changing the Time on your Data Capture Reader is a very easy process. This is something you may care to do in relation to Daylight Savings or for another reason.
STEP 1. Open 'Lauranka COMMS' (select 'COMMS' off the Main Menu in Lauranka Time Clock)
STEP 2. Goto 'Terminal Setup' (and chose the desired Terminal/Reader)
STEP 3. Press 'Configure'
STEP 4. Next press the 'Download Date/Time' button
Please note the Date and Time will be downloaded from your P.C./Time Source so please ensure this is correct first. For the Bioscyrypt 3G V-Stations with Firmware 9.60, and all 4G V-Stations you can also select and download Daylight Savings through this same function. For the MTX Readers the Daylight savings must be set annually (within the same calendar year).
(Please note with some of the earlier generation MTX Readers the automatic Daylight Savings function is not available, we would recommend when using the Daylight Savings function in relation to the MTX Reader that you always check after Daylight Savings has occurred that the automatic change of the time has occurred, and if not just manually download the current Time/Date).
(The Time Download function is valid for the Bioscrypt 3G V-Station Finger Scan Reader, 4G V-Station Reader, and MTX Swipe Card Readers)
To automatically download time to a Reader(s), simply set up a Task via Windows Task Scheduler at the desired Polling times.
The command line to run an Autopoll routine is:
C:\Comms\Comms.exe quicktime
Please remember that if you have installed Comms to a non-default location the 'C:\Comms' part of the line will need to be altered to reflect the different location.
Finally with the above command line the download time process is only active and running for the period of the command.
